DescriptionAn original, full gouache painting depicting a nighttime prairie scene with six cowboys singing to the accompaniment of a harmonica and a ukulele. It is signed by artist in the lower right: Bromberg 40. The title does not appear on the painting.
It is matted, glazed, and framed in 3/4" gilt wood frame with red undertones.
Label TextThis painting appears to be a preliminary study for Bromberg’s winning entry to the Fine Arts Section of the Federal Works Agency's Forty-eight State Mural Competition. The Forty-eight State Mural Competition, held in 1939, led to the selection of mural designs for one post office in each of the 48 states in the Union at that time. Bromberg was selected to create the mural for the Greybull, Wyoming Post Office.It is matted, glazed, and framed in 3/4" gilt wood frame with red undertones.
