DescriptionAn unused cover with a red, white, and blue anti-war cachet copyrighted by the Peace Symbols Society of Kenosha, Wisconsin. The illustrated cachet features the images of George Washington at the top, and a dove in flight holding an olive branch in its beak on the bottom. Between the two illustrations is red text that reads: Unity of all races and / creeds will bring about / World's Peace and / Prosperity. A Chicago, Illinois union bug is printed below the cachet.
Label TextAt the start of World War II, most Americans wished to stay out of the conflict. This cover reflects the nation’s prevailing mood of isolationism.
