DescriptionA block of 16 connected and unused non-postal cinderella stamps from the 1932 presidential campaign. At the center of each cream-colored stamp with orange ink is a head and shoulders line drawing portrait of FDR next to an outline of a stamp with the words, “THE STAMP OF APPROVAL." Additional text above and below the portrait reads: A Stamp Collector FOR PRESIDENT / FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT /member / American Philatelic Society.
Label TextFDR had a lifelong interest in stamp collecting and stamp enthusiasts were well aware of his involvement in their hobby even before he became President. During his first Presidential election campaign in 1932, the American Philatelic Society printed these special promotional stamps touting his candidacy.
