DescriptionA small, simple, pedestal-style pine desk with walnut stain. Each side of the desk has three drawers, each with a single brass knob pull. The two bottom drawers are deeper and have a wooden divider running the depth of the drawers. The drawers are all lined with white liner paper.

The following contents are located in the upper left drawer: a red plastic thimble; a tube of Roger and Gallet lip pommade; a small paper pamphlet for Rensie clocks; and a small manila envelope containing three blue fabric-covered buttons, two black safety pins, two hair pins, two miniature keys on ring, a straight pin with ball end, and a piece of string.
Label TextThis desk was used by Eleanor Roosevelt as a dressing table in her New York City apartment bedroom until her death in 1962. The desk was paired with a captain's mate chair (see MO 1972.43).
