DescriptionAn oblong, multicolored hooked throw rug. At the center is a black silhouette image of a Scottie dog with "FALLA ROOSEVELT" [sic] below. The dog is surrounded by various images including a sun, flowers, the year "1944", and a red and blue double-V (for Victory). The rug is edged with a red, white, and blue yarn fringe.
Label TextFDR had a lifelong affection for pets. The best known was Fala, a Scottish terrier given to him by his distant cousin, Margaret “Daisy” Suckley, in 1940. During World War II, Fala became Roosevelt’s constant companion and the most famous dog in America.
