DescriptionAn original black and white cartoon featuring Franklin D. Roosevelt's Scottish terrier dog, Fala. The cartoon is an outdoor scene showing a small scruffy dog and a puppy standing outside an iron gate through which can be seen Fala chasing a butterfly around the North Lawn of the White House with the North Portico of the White House visible in the background. The artist's signature is in the lower right corner of the cartoon: ALAN FOSTER. The caption is handwritten in pencil below the cartoon: "SEE JOE? THAT'S HIM. YOU WATCH YOUR Ps + Qs AND SOME DAY YOU MIGHT GROW UP TO BE A PRESIDENT'S DOG". The cartoon sheet has several publication notes written in pencil.
On the reverse of the cartoon sheet are additional publication notes and a blue ink stamped Liberty magazine form with handwritten pencil information filled in: LIBERTY ART DEPT. / MACFADDEN PUBLICATIONS, INC. / SUBJ. FALA / ISSUE Sept - 26th - 1942 / PAGE 58 / INSERT No. 1.
