Label TextThis print is believed to be from a partial edition (MO 1974.338a-y) of the Portfolio of Spanish Colonial Design, edited by E. Boyd for the Federal Art Project of New Mexico. The full portfolio is comprised of a set of 50 (see MO 1956.237.1-50) hand-pulled, watercolored woodblock and linocut prints depicting examples of Spanish Colonial decorative arts dating from the eighteenth to the early twentieth century. The folio concentrates on religious art, and includes renderings of bultos (sculptures), altars, furniture, architectural details, and other objects. Two hundred copies of the portfolio were made, each with 50 prints.
