DescriptionAn original black and white cartoon featuring Franklin D. Roosevelt's Scottish terrier dog, Fala. The cartoon is an outdoor scene showing Fala standing by one of the White House columns on the south side. With his tail wagging, Fala is looking up at the black Standard Poodle, with a bow in her hair, who is in front of him. The Washington Monument is seen in the background. The artist's signature is in the lower left corner of the cartoon: ALAN FOSTER. The caption is typed on a slip of paper adhered below the cartoon: "The French have been disturbing our peace of mind lately." The cartoon sheet has a publication measurement written in pencil on it.
Label TextIn 1942, American illustrator and cartoonist Alan Foster created a series of cartoons, titled "Fala," for Liberty magazine. This cartoon appeared in the August 22, 1942 issue of Liberty.
