DescriptionAn original black and white cartoon featuring Franklin D. Roosevelt's Scottish terrier dog, Fala. The cartoon is an outdoor scene showing a small dog standing outside an iron gate on the other side of which stands Fala who is talking to him. Behind Fala is the North Lawn and the North Portico of the White House. The artist's signature is in the lower right corner of the cartoon: ALAN FOSTER. The caption is handwritten in pencil below the cartoon: I'D ASK YOU IN, ONLY WE'RE PRETTY BUSY THESE DAYS. Written in the top left corner of the cartoon sheet: FALLA.
Label TextIn 1942, American illustrator and cartoonist Alan Foster created a series of cartoons, titled "Fala," for Liberty magazine. This cartoon appeared in the March 21, 1942 issue of Liberty.
