DescriptionAn original black and white cartoon featuring Franklin D. Roosevelt's Scottish terrier dog, Fala. The cartoon is of an indoor scene with Fala standing in a room with an armchair, side table, and lamp behind him. He is looking at a campaign button that is on the floor in front of him. The artist's signature is in the upper left corner of the cartoon: ALAN FOSTER. The caption is handwritten in black below the cartoon: "I WONDER IF THAT'S AN OLD WILLKIE BUTTON….. OR A NEW ONE. The cartoon sheet has several publication notes written in pencil including the number "7394".
Label TextFrom 1942-1944, American illustrator and cartoonist Alan Foster created a series of cartoons, titled "Mr. Fala of the White House," for Collier's magazine. This cartoon appeared on page 83 of the February 26, 1944 issue of Collier’s.
