DescriptionA 1944 campaign stamp cover with an anti-Roosevelt cachet. The white envelope bears a violet U.S. 3¢ Win the War Issue stamp (Scott 905). On the left side of the envelope is a cachet consisting of copper and gold text that reads: Let us not force one / man to "hog" the / White House! / Remember the warn- / ing of G. Washington! The text is bordered by a silver box topped by the illustration of a tank.
The envelope is addressed in typed lettering to: Mr. Paul J. Miller / 48 West 6th St. / Pottstown, Pa. It is postmarked Dubuque, Iowa, October 17, 1944. Stamped and written on the reverse of the envelope is information regarding the cachet: This Cachet Designed / and Sponsored by / WILLIAM S. LINTO / 4920 N.E. 16th Ave / PORTLAND, 11, ORE. / Cachet No. 579 / Covers Issued 45 / Cover No. 44.
