DescriptionA pin awarded to Eleanor Roosevelt by the National Association of Colored Women (NACW) for distinguished service in race relations. The award pin consists of a gold-plated silver pinback bow from which is suspended a round, 1" gold medal.

MEDAL OBVERSE: At the center is the engraved image of a laurel leaf wreath with text in the middle that reads: LIFTING / AS • WE / CLIMB. An engraved inscription encircling the wreath reads: • N•A•C•W • 1946 • AWARD • / DISTINGUISHED SERVICE - RACE RELATIONS.

MEDAL REVERSE: An engraved inscription at the center reads: ANNA ELEANOR / ROOSEVELT / INSPIRER OF WOMEN. The maker's mark is visible at the bottom (letter "A" with a right facing arrow though it) along with "14K".
