DescriptionA white crocheted antimacassar, in the shape of an elongated hexagon, intended to cover the arm of an upholstered chair. At the center is a large outlined "V" (for Victory) in blue thread. The antimacassar has fringed edges.

The cover is part of an antimacassar set (MO 1942.200.26.1-3).
Label TextThe needlework antimacassar set that this chair cover is a part of was sent to Franklin D. Roosevelt in December 1941 by the maker, Otto G. Oetinger of Gardenville, New York. In his note to FDR that accompanied the set, Oetinger writes, "Suitable for your Victory arm chair. Am a disabled veteran served nine years in your navy."

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on February 28, 1942. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
