DescriptionA scale model of the Hudson River ice yacht, WHIFF. The ice yacht has a natural wood hull with two fabric sails. The model is fixed to a wood base.
Label TextThis model of the WHIFF was built by Jacob Buckhout of Poughkeepsie, New York in the period 1870-1874. The model was presented to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum on February 19, 1942, by the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club, through William Buckhout and Joseph Davis.
