DescriptionA woven jugate campaign ribbon. On an off-white background are printed black and white portraits of James Polk and George Dallas. Black text above, between, and below the portraits reads: ALONE BUT NOT DESERTED / TEXAS [within a star] / FOR PRESIDENT JAMES K. POLK. / FOR VICE PRESIDENT GEORGE M. DALLAS / Let Polk Dallas & Texas be the watchword, & Countersign, and victory is certain / Andrew Jackson.

Printed along the bottom edge of the badge is the seller’s information: Sold by E. P. Wates, 1 Cortland St., N.Y.
Label TextJames K. Polk and George M. Dallas were the Democratic Party’s successful presidential and vice presidential candidates in 1844.

This campaign ribbon was sent to Franklin D. Roosevelt, possibly in 1932, by Mr. I. C. Baldwin of Goshen, New York.
