DescriptionA brown felt fedora with a brown grosgrain hat band. The interior is lined with cream-colored silk imprinted with the maker's mark for C. Sartoris. The lower section of the interior near the opening has a brown leather sweatband stitched around the circumference with the maker's mark for Borsalino stamped in gold, as well as the name of C. Sartoris once again, also in gold.
Label TextFranklin Roosevelt wore distinctive felt hats like this one during his four presidential campaigns. He wore this Italian-made felt hat during several of those campaigns. It is on display on a rotational basis in the 1932 ELECTION CAMPAIGN exhibit in the Museum’s THE PROMISE OF CHANGE gallery.Additional Details
