DescriptionA cast metal still bank. The bank consists of a bronze-finished head and shoulders bust of Franklin D. Roosevelt. He is shown wearing a suit jacket, waistcoat, shirt, and tie. Text on the front of the base reads: F.D. ROOSEVELT. On the underside of the base is a lockable access door (key missing) with a spring-protected coin slot. The manufacturer’s information is engraved on the access door: PREFERRED BANK SER. CO. / BROOKLYN, N.Y.
Label TextFranklin Roosevelt loomed large in American popular culture. Elected to four terms as America’s president, he became a familiar presence on the radio and in newspapers, magazines, and newsreels. Inevitably, his well-known likeness appeared on products such as this still bank.
