DescriptionA white crocheted antimacassar intended to cover the back of an upholstered chair. The design depicts a portrait of George Washington against a background of two crossed American flags - a thirteen star flag and a forty-eight star flag. The needlework is attached to a piece of cardboard. An adhesive sticker adhered to the lower right of the cardboard backer has a hand written number: D-27-42b. Written in pencil on the reverse of the backer: Museum / Miss Angus Hays / 18 Oak Street, Salem Mass.
