At the center of the plate is an image of the United States Capitol Building encircled by text that reads: TO COMMEMORATE THE VISIT OF THEIR MAJESTIES KING GEORGE VI & QUEEN ELIZABETH TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA • • • JUNE 1939 • • •.
Around the edge of the plate is a wide border consisting of oak and laurel leaves encircled by chain links, at the top of which are the identified portraits of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and at the bottom is the identified portrait of President Roosevelt.
The manufacturer's mark and information are on the reverse: MASON'S / PATENT IRONSTONE / CHINA / ENGLAND.
