DescriptionA set of five anti-Franklin D. Roosevelt non-postage letter stamps adhered to a single sheet. Each of the stickers features a black and white reproduction of a political cartoon, as well as “NATIONAL REPUBLICAN COUNCIL • HOTEL McALPIN • NEW YORK” printed along the bottom. The images on the stamps show:

- An illustration of FDR in front of a radio microphone, lighting his cigarette with the rolled up “CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES,” the end of which is on fire.

- An illustration of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt riding a donkey towards the edge of a cliff. FDR is holding a microphone and Eleanor is holding a staff with a hammer and sickle Communist flag. Rising through the clouds in the background are several Russian onion domes.

- An illustration of a small group of elderly people who are looking happily into a large cauldron titled "TOWNSEND PLAN," while on the other side of the pot are a less-prosperous looking younger man, woman, and child with the label “WORKERS” above their head, each ready to put a monetary contribution into the pot.

- An illustration of a charging elephant with a large caption that warns, "BEWARE!”

- An illustration featuring a giant monster named "FRANKENSTEIN (?) D. ROOSEVELT" with "BUREAUCRATIC GOVERNMENT” across his chest. The monster is seeing treading on factory buildings labeled “U.S. BUSINESS” as FDR looks on in horror.

Handwritten in ink below the stickers is a note that reads: “Set of Anti-Roosevelt letter stickers Banned for use in the mail by Postmaster General Farley.”
