DescriptionAn original black and white cartoon. It depicts a nighttime Election Day scene in New York’s Times Square where a gathered crowd is seen jubilantly celebrating as the election results are reported on the building in the background: “ROOSEVELT ELECTED / The New York Times / ELECTION RETURN / ROOSEVELT [illegible election results] / HOOVER [illegible election results].” In the forefront of the scene are two well-dressed older men look disgruntled as one speaks into the ear of the other. The caption is written along the bottom of the cartoon: "DON'T LOOK NOW PERCY, BUT I THINK HE'S WON –." The artist's signature is found twice (once in pencil and once in ink) in the lower right corner: “Don Freeman.”
The cartoon sits within a cardstock window mat.
