DescriptionAn original black and white ink cartoon, using the Ben Day process, titled at the top, “ANOTHER TOUGH ONE TO HANDLE.” It depicts the “UNCLE SAM DAY AND NIGHT NURSERY” with babies in five cradles labeled “BANKS,” “ECONOMY,” “BEER,” “FARM RELIEF,” and “UNEMPLOYMENT.” The first three babies are happily sucking on baby bottles. The “Farm Relief” baby is crying as a male nurse (“CONGRESS”) hands it a baby bottle. The “Unemployment” baby is also putting up a fuss and Franklin D. Roosevelt (identified as “DR. ROOSEVELT”) is seen hurrying over as a small crow, dressed as a nurse, follows behind him. The artist’s signature and publication information are in the lower right corner: “FRED O. SEIBEL / — RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH — MARCH 23, 1933.”
