DescriptionA small, delicately-carved ivory model of a Chinese pleasure boat. The boat features several figures sitting throughout at tables or on the floor. Two flags fly from the stern. An adhesive sticker on the bottom has typed text: B-30-9.

The model rests unattached on a small ebony stand carved to resemble waves.
Label TextMuseum records for this carving indicate it may have been given to Franklin D. Roosevelt by a Chinese banker in New York City.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 7, 1940. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
