DescriptionA United Automobile Workers of America (UAW) Freedom Award issued to Eleanor Roosevelt. The award consists of a vertical, flame-shaped piece of matte black plastic on a round black metal stand.

On the front of the award is a partial representation of the Statue of Liberty formed from a continuous piece of stainless-steel wire. To the left of the statue are three silver stars.

Attached to the reverse side of the award is a small silver plaque on which an inscription has been engraved that reads: This UAW Twentieth / Anniversary Freedom / Award is presented to / Eleanor Roosevelt / In deep gratitude and / profound admiration for / distinguished service / to Mankind during the / first two decades of / the life of our Union.
Label TextEleanor Roosevelt was presented with the United Automobile Works of America (UAW) Freedom Award on April 9, 1957 at the Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ, during which she addressed a crowd of four thousand UAW delegates.
