DescriptionAn oil painting depicting a rural scene in autumn. In the forefront is a water-crossed field with trees. A number of houses are in the background. The artist's signature is in the lower right: Graham Holmes.

The painting is framed in a 3 1/2" gilt wood frame. A metal plaque attached to the bottom center of the frame reads: PUBLIC WORKS OF ART PROJECT. On the reverse of the frame is carved: Carved by F. Coll. Wil, Del. for portrait at Dover, Del.
Label TextThis painting was created for the Treasury Department’s Public Works of Art Project (PWAP) Philadelphia Region 3 Office. It was displayed at a PWAP exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery from April 24-May 20, 1934.
