Each piece has hand hammered handles with hand-worked floral, leaf, and vine decorations. On the back of the handles is Franklin D. Roosevelt's raised monogram: FDR. The manufacturer's stamp -- a two-headed animal holding the Whiting shield -- is on each verso, along with a "V" that has that appears to be a date letter.
