DescriptionA black and white etching and aquatint print of the December 12, 1782 conflict between the British ship HMS MEDIATOR and the French ships EUGENE and MENAGERE. Pictured at center, the MEDIATOR is seen firing at the MENAGERE on the right while the EUGENE is seen on the left. Several other sailing ships - the French ship DAUPHIN ROYAL, the American ship ALEXANDER, and an unamed brig are visible in the background.
