DescriptionA color poster featuring an illustration of a young woman in an active service Red Cross nursing uniform and cape. Her right hand is extended towards the viewer in a beckoning manner. Behind her, in the upper background, are three illustrated vignettes representing situations in which Red Cross assistance is needed -- a flood, a displaced woman with two small children, and a man and dog in front of a destroyed house. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the upper left corner of the poster: “R. C. KAUFFMAN –.” At the bottom of the poster is a large red cross with blue and red text that reads: “Join / American Cross.” Printed in the very bottom lower right corner of the poster: LITHO IN U.S.A.
