DescriptionA color poster encouraging enlistment in the naval WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). The poster features a color photographic image of a woman in a U.S. Navy uniform and hat, saluting with her right hand. White on red and red on white text above and on the image reads: “ENLIST IN THE WAVES / RELEASE A MAN TO FIGHT AT SEA.” Additional black text below the image instructs: “Apply to your nearest NAVY RECRUITING STATION OR OFFICE OF NAVAL OFFICER PROCUREMENT."

Small text along the bottom edge has the poster information: ORDER NO. 19 / NRB—34694—1-13-43—40M.
