DescriptionA blue, white, orange, and black poster promoting enlistment in the U.S. Navy. The poster features a large graphic illustration of two U.S. Navy sailors (possibly Seabees) working on a metal beam. One of the sailors, wearing goggles and heavy work gloves, is using a rivet gun on the beam. In the background are the images of two islands fronted by U.S. Naval vessels. Black text along the top of the poster states: BUILD for your NAVY! At the bottom of the poster, on a black background is white, orange, and blue text that reads: ENLIST! / CARPENTERS, MACHINISTS, ELECTRICIANS ETC. / FOR INFORMATION APPLY TO YOUR NEAREST RECRUITING STATION / U.S. NAVY - BUREAU OF YARDS & DOCKS. The artist's name is located on the left side of the beam: R. MUCHLEY. Printed in the lower right corner of the illustration: PENNA ART WPA.
