DescriptionAn all-white ship model of a barque (or bark) under full sail. The ship's hull and the base are made of soap and the unfurled sails are made of parchment paper. The model is placed in a glass case with black cardboard trim and back. Inscribed in white on the backer: PRESENTED TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES / FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT / COMMEMORATING THE FIRST FLIGHT OF THE PAN AMERICAN AIRWAY'S YANKEE CLIPPER AZORES TO U.S.A. APRIL 1939.
