DescriptionA red, white, and blue poster for the Office of Civilian Defense (OCD) titled, “NEW AIR RAID WARNING SYSTEM.” The poster has a chart with four rows representing the order in which the signals are given: BLUE WARNING, RED DANGER, BLUE WARNING, WHITE ALL CLEAR. For each row, text and graphics provide instructional information broken down into columns for “WHEN SIGNAL IS GIVEN,” “IT MEANS,” and “YOU DO THIS.”

Below the chart are additional instructions that state: “CAUTION! If enemy planes get too close before discovery, the first audible signal will be RED! Listen closely! / REMEMBER! Check your local regulations and observe them!"

In the lower right corner of the poster is the logo for the U.S. Office of Civilian Defense in addition to small text that reads: "EFFECTIVE 12:01 A. M. FEBRUARY 17, 1943 / APPROVED BY THE U. S. OFFICE OF CIVILIAN DEFENSE, THE EASTERN DEFENSE COMMAND, AND THE FIRST ARMY. / OCD Publication 7015 / U. S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1943—O-510707."
