DescriptionA small, three-dimensional cast metal plaque. At the center is a bronze-colored depiction of Franklin D. Roosevelt (head and shoulders) within the setting of a silver-colored horseshoe with text engraved at the bottom: PROSPERITY. The piece has a screw hole at the top of FDR’s tie. There is no maker’s mark.
Label TextFranklin Roosevelt loomed large in American popular culture. Elected to four terms as America’s president, he became a familiar presence on the radio and in newspapers, magazines, and newsreels. Inevitably, his well-known likeness appeared on products such as this plaque. It is on display in the ROOSEVELT IN POP CULTURE exhibit in the Museum’s NEW DEAL gallery.Additional Details
