DescriptionAn original black and white cartoon featuring Franklin D. Roosevelt's Scottish terrier dog, Fala. The cartoon shows Fala riding in the back of an official presidential vehicle, the profile of FDR visible next to him. Fala is looking down at a barking dog running alongside the automobile. On the other side of the car is an escorting policeman on a motorbike. The artist's signature is in the lower right corner of the cartoon: ALAN FOSTER. The caption is handwritten in pencil below the cartoon: "Irresponsible critics are a disturbing element!". The cartoon sheet has several publication notes written in pencil.
Label TextFrom 1942-1944, American illustrator and cartoonist Alan Foster created a series of cartoons, titled "Mr. Fala of the White House," for Collier's magazine. This cartoon appeared on page 67 of the March 27, 1943 issue of Collier’s.
