Descriptiona) An original watercolor and ink painting on heavy weight wove paper of the children's book character Scamper the rabbit with various Disney cartoon characters. The scene, featuring drawn and painted figures, shows Scamper being introduced by Mickey Mouse to Minnie Mouse, Pluto the Dog, and the Three Little Pigs. A handwritten ink inscription in the lower right corner reads: BEST WISHES TO / ANNA ROOSEVELT DALL / AND ‘SCAMPER’ / WALT DISNEY. The painting is housed in a window mat.
b) The painting comes with a ½" green and gold frame which is currently stored separately.
Label TextScamper is a character from the 1934 children's book, “Scamper, The Bunny Who Went to the White House,” written by Franklin D. Roosevelt's daughter, Anna Roosevelt Dall, and illustrated by Marjorie Flack. Walt Disney's incorporating of Scamper into a cartoon with various Disney characters was an acknowledgement of Scamper's entry into the world of recognized cartoon characters.b) The painting comes with a ½" green and gold frame which is currently stored separately.
