DescriptionA grayscale portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt woven from silk threads. The head and shoulders portrait shows FDR wearing a dark suit jacket, a white shirt, and a dark tie.

Woven Chinese characters on the reverse indicate the portrait was woven by the Chi Wen Silk Weaving Co. in Hangchow, China.

The portrait is folded over and attached to a piece of cardboard.
Label TextThis woven portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt was presented to his mother, Sara Delano Roosevelt, by the Minister of Finance for the Chinese government, Dr. H. H. Kung, and his wife.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 3, 1942. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
