DescriptionA red, white, and blue crocheted 48-star American flag with crocheted stars on both the front and reverse sides. Two small crocheted loops are located at the corners of the left edge of the flag.
Label TextThis handmade flag was sent to Franklin Roosevelt in January 1942 as a birthday gift by the maker, Mrs. Cecil C. Steede of Escanaba, Michigan. Her husband was employed by the Works Progress Administration [WPA] Michigan Music Project of Delta County.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on February 28, 1942. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
