DescriptionA gouache painting of Mt. Vesuvius and Naples, Italy. The Bay of Naples is shown on the right half of the painting with several rowboats and sailboats in the water and on shore. The street that runs in front of the harbor is lined with white and pink painted buildings with the city stretching out behind it, a large fortified building at the top of a hill in the background. Several horse drawn carriages move down the street. In the distance, on the right, is a volcano with smoke coming out of it. No maker's mark or signature.

An ornate gilt 1" wood and plaster frame is stored separately.
