DescriptionA small silver-colored front-facing metal head of Franklin D. Roosevelt on a cube-shaped black marble base. A silver plaque, inset into the front of the base, has a facsimile of FDR's initials in his handwriting: FDR. The artist's name is inscribed on the reverse of the head: JO · DAVIDSON · WASH · 1934 ©. The manufacturer's mark is etched into the reverse bottom of the sculpture: TX [stacked vertically] 2002. A small square silver plaque, set into the reverse of the base, has an inscription that reads: D·S·C / 2002 / XC.
Label TextAt the end of 1933 and the beginning of 1934, Franklin Roosevelt sat several times for sculptor Jo Davidson at the White House. This bust is a miniature version of the resulting bronze bust of FDR completed by Davidson in 1934.Additional Details
