DescriptionAn original black and white cartoon featuring Franklin D. Roosevelt's Scottish terrier dog, Fala. The cartoon is an outdoor scene showing Fala peering around the trunk of a tree at a horse on the other side who is speaking to him. A farm and rolling hills can be seen in the distant background. The artist's signature is in the lower left corner of the cartoon: A. S. FOSTER. The caption is handwritten in pencil below the cartoon: Me drafted? I thought this was the Machine Age?" The cartoon sheet has a publication measurement written in pencil on it.
Label TextIn 1942, American illustrator and cartoonist Alan Foster created a series of cartoons, titled "Fala," for Liberty magazine. This cartoon appeared in the August 8, 1942 issue of Liberty.
