The cover is part of an antimacassar set (MO 1942.200.37.1-3).
Label TextThe needlework antimacassar set that this cover is a part of was sent to Franklin Roosevelt in January 1942 as a birthday gift by the maker, Adelaide B. McPike of Birmingham, Alabama. The design of the set was Mrs. McPike's own creation and unique, as she wished it to be exclusively for FDR.
