DescriptionA boxed game based on important figures and events related to American history. The game comes in a two-piece cardboard box with a "DENNISON'S PICTURE BOXES" label across the top [this does not appear to be the original box for the game].

The box contains a pink card with directions for the game and 92 white cards, each with the name of an event or important historical figure in red followed by three other names and events printed below in black. The publisher’s information is printed at the bottom of the directions card: Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1859, by S. C. PERRIN, in the Clerk’s / Office of the District Court of the District of Massachusetts.
Label TextThis game is part of a collection of 19th century games designed for the amuseument and instruction of children (MO 2007.858a-r) purchased by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1939 for $97.50. The games, which were found together in the attic of an old house in Massachusetts, were put up for sale as a collection by The American Autograph Shop in Merion Station, Pennsylvania.
