DescriptionA red, white, and blue hooked throw rug. At the center is a blue rectangle with white stars in each corner and white script text that reads: Fire / Side / Chats. The rectangle is surrounded by a wide checkboard border of red and blue squares outlined in white. The rug is backed with a piece of burlap.
Label TextThis throw rug was sent to Franklin Roosevelt in November 1940 by the designer and maker, Mary A. Lohman of Sparks, Nevada. The wool used in the rug was recycled from the clothing of Sparks and Reno, Nevada students, and the burlap was from a sugar sack.
