DescriptionA small glass snuff bottle with a partial cork stopper (the top of stopper is missing) and bone applicator. Two scenes of Chinese children at play are painted on the interior of the bottle and visible from the exterior. On either side of the exterior of the bottle are molded decorative heads. A tag is attached on the bottom: China.
Label TextFDR kept this item on his Oval Office desk. Museum records indicate it may have been given to the President in 1942 by Catherine Derby of Bridgeton, New Jersey. It is on display in the FDR’S OVAL OFFICE DESK exhibit in the Museum’s APRIL 12, 1945 gallery.Additional Details
