DescriptionA small, white front-facing head and shoulders bust of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Inscribed at the front of the base is the title of the piece: THE / WAR PRESIDENT. The artist's name is inscribed on the proper right side of the bust: 19©43 / WALTER RUSSELL. The reverse of the bust bears an inscription that reads: To / MRS. JOHN BOETTIGER / Miniature replica of bust of / President Roosevelt / Presented to the People of the / United States by the AHEPA. / From / Eleanor Roosevelt.

It is a miniature version of the sculpture that was presented to President Roosevelt on March 10, 1943 by the Order of AHEPA, a Greek fraternal organization and which is on display on the grounds of the Roosevelt Library and Museum in Freedom Court (see MO 1946.42.1).Additional Details
