DescriptionA color poster featuring an illustration of a uniformed American soldier standing against the backdrop of a field crisscrossed with barbed wire. Looking towards the viewer with a smile on his face, he is holding a rifle on his left shoulder, and a canteen cup in his right hand. In the sky above the soldier are the partial images of a man and woman both dressed in Red Cross officer uniforms. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right corner of the illustration: “SCHLAIKJER 43.” In the upper right corner of the poster is a large red cross along with green and red text on and below the illustration that reads: “WAR FUND / Your RED CROSS is at his side.” A union bug is printed in the very bottom lower right corner of the poster.
