DescriptionA Spanish language poster, titled "libertad de palabra" [freedom of speech], promoting inter-American solidarity during World War II. The poster features a large illustration of the Nazi swastika cracked and broken apart by a fiery and smoky explosion. Gray text along the bottom of the poster reads: "UNA DE LAS CUATRO LIBERTADES POR LAS QUE LUCHAN LOS ALIADOS" [One of the four freedoms for which the allies fight]. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the upper right corner of the poster: "Alexey Bradovitch 1942."

Printed in small text along the bottom of the poster: "Publicado por El Coordinador de Asuntos Interamericanos, Washington, E. U. A."
Label TextPresident Roosevelt created the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs during World War II to counter Italian and German propaganda in Latin America and promote political, economic, and cultural ties with the United States. He appointed Nelson Rockefeller as the Coordinator. This poster is one in a series created by the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs depicting Franklin D. Roosevelt's Four Freedoms.
