DescriptionA color poster featuring a small image in the bottom forefront of a family of five at the bottom, standing on a hill topped by a white cross. Above them rises a large image of FDR's head and shoulders. Red and white text at the center of the poster reads: "In the strength of great hope / we must shoulder our common load." / BUY VICTORY BONDS. The Victory Loan logo is in the lower right of the poster. The artwork is by C. C. Beall. Additional small text in the bottom margin reads: U. S. Label TextWhen FDR died on April 12, 1945, the war was still raging in Europe and the Pacific. A watercolor portrait by Cecil Calvert Beall was the centerpiece of this poster issued during the government’s final war bond campaign, called the Victory Loan Drive, which ran from October 29 to December 8, 1945.
