DescriptionAn oil on board painting depicting a New York City Hooverville during the Great Depression. Running across the center of the painting is the Hudson River on which can be seen several boats. The Hooverville shanty town, consisting of a cluster of shacks, is in the forefront. In the background, on the river's opposite shore, are factory buildings along the water's edge and buildings up on a bluff. The painting is signed and dated by the artist in the lower right: George Beline / 1932.

The painting is framed in a 1½” wide wood frame with gold and black trim.
