DescriptionA round pinback commemorative button. At the center of the white button is a black and white halftone reproduction of a Jacob H. Perskie pencil drawing of the head and shoulders of Franklin Roosevelt. Above FDR’s head is the image of a red, white, and blue ribbon bow. To the sides and below the portrait is blue text that reads: “TUPELO, MISS. / NOV. 18,1934. / ROOSEVELT.”

The manufacturer's information is printed on the rim of the button and on a paper label on the reverse of the button.
Label TextOn November 18, 1934, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt arrived in Tupelo, Mississippi by train and were met by a crowd of over 75,000 people. The President and First Lady visited the city as part of a tour to view the electrification progress of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Tupelo was the first municipality to purchase electricity from the TVA.
